Taxi driver lost in tragic accident

Taxi driver Dilwar Shah Gardezi, 32, died when a car smashed into the driver's side of his taxi just before 5am on Saturday.  Public details of the circumstances of the crash are still limited.

The Victoria Police Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses.  Investigators would like to speak to any witnesses or anyone who spoke to the occupants of the vehicles involved in the collision.  Anyone who witnessed the collision is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 00 or they can file a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au

The driver of the Hyundai, a 33-year-old Oakleigh woman, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
